Enhance Opportunities

We invite donors to establish named funds that support targeted areas in 2SLGBTQI Business Education.

Training, Research & Education

Many 2SLGBTQ+ entrepreneurs avoid mainstream events, with over 50% reporting discrimination. We create safe environments for learning and networking.

Growing number of 2SLGBTQI+ Businesses

We know in Canada there are more than 100,000 2SLGBT+ and we are confident that this number is underrepresented as we know from recent surveys that some business owners have stayed closeted due to negative experiences. As we create safer spaces, we hope we will see more entrepreneurs choose to self identify.

Who we’ve helped

The Difference We’ve Made

Bill Pallett Young Entrepreneur Grant supports youth mentorship through a grant that supports the program at CGLCC to pair young entrepreneurs with mentors in this year long program.  Each seat in this program has an associated cost of about $5000 and helps build the business leaders in the 2SLGBTQ+ community for tomorrow.

LGBT Leadership Development Program supports up and coming leaders in our 2SLGBTQ+ Business Community such as chamber leaders and students of business to attend educational events and networking and learning opportunities with other business and chamber leaders.  This program can pay registration for events and some travel as may be required.

CGLBEF General Fund is used to further develop the foundation and other programs to grow in the 2SLGBTQ+ business space.  Future plans may include Post Secondary Scholarships, Paid Internships and other joint and named partnerships with other corporate organizations and foundations.

Granting

As the organization continues to grow, we are committed to dedicating a majority of funds raised directly to granting. These funds will be directed to programs and opportunities to grow tomorrows business leaders in and for our community

Young Graduates

Since 2017 Young Entrepreneurs (age 18 to 39) from across Canada have had the opportunity to participate & graduate from in the CGLCC’s Youth Mentorship Program.

Years in Operations

The organization formed in 2008 but with limited resources was mostly inactive until 2015, when the organization began raising a small amount of funds to support the Young Entrepreneur Program at CGLCC.
